Anne Elston Harpole

July 6, 1950 ~ September 19, 2021 (age 71)

Obituary

Anne Elston Harpole passed away unexpectedly while traveling through Saarbrucken, Germany on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the age of 71.

Anne is survived by her husband, Mark Harpole; her children, Jennifer Bucha (Jason), Cass Jones (Florissa), and Christie Jones (Mary); her sister Carol Brossette; and her grandchildren, Ethan Reynoso, William Bucha, Damian Jones, Henry Bucha, Elenna Bucha, Everett Klavin, and Finn Klavin.

Anne was born on July 6, 1950 in Shreveport, LA. She was the second of two daughters to Mary and Kenneth Elston, and grew up with her sister, Carol Brossette, in Shreveport. Anne attended C.E. Byrd High School, followed by Louisiana State University, where she graduated in 1972.

Anne was a devoted military spouse, raising three children while stationed at Air Force Bases across the world. She was an avid traveler, taking every opportunity to explore new places. Anne had a talented eye for home design exacting a special way of incorporating items from her travels into her home, where she commemorated a lifetime of exploration.

Anne loved her country and her Southern roots. Wherever her travels took her, she found a way to cheer on the LSU Tigers from afar. Her petite frame could always manage a startling bellow, prompting even Mike the Tiger to stand right up and roar. Her cheers were indicative of her energy, passion for life, and indelible positivity – characteristics Anne brought to all those around her.

The world was fortunate to have Anne, spreading her loving spirit and enthusiasm for life. She will be missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, at 1pm. A reception will follow in Honor of Anne's memory at the Silver Star, 9462 Ellerbe Rd. Shreveport.
