Betty “Soupie” Marks Richardson, 93 passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Glen Retirement Center, after a brief illness. A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Osborn Funeral Home on Southern Ave. A graveside Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on June 16, 2021, at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. Officiating will be Dr. Greg Davis of Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
Betty lived a continually active life. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1944 and served many years on the reunion committee. She worked several years with her sister at the Home Builders Association. Betty loved to travel and did so extensively throughout Europe, North America and the Caribbean. She enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends. Playing cards with her different groups was a happy time for Betty. Going to lunch with “the Girls” was high light for her. Betty was always “the bell of the ball” no mater where she was. She was a great service and blessing to others. Betty had a strong faith and loved her Lord and Savior and was ready to meet Him face to face, which now she has. We have no doubt she is reuniting with friends and family now and planning a heavenly reunion party.
Betty was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Martin; husband and love of her life, Carl Richardson; parents Cecil and Lois Marks; and sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Bill Gann
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy is nephew Bill Gann and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that memorials be made to St. Jude’s.
We would like to express sincere appreciation to the Staff at The Glen Retirement Center and Lifepath Hospice. Thank you all for your kindness and support
