"Donnie" was born November 3, 1928 in Vicksburg, MS and passed away on August 23, 2021 in Shreveport, LA due to a lengthy illness.
A memorial graveside service is planned for Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 9:30 am at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue in Shreveport, LA.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Hanggi Mills Tuminello; grandmother, Mary Conchetta Gerache Tuminello; grandfather, Dominick Tuminello; father, Johnny M. Tuminello; mother, Mary Jimes Tuminello; son, Paul Mills Tuminello; sister, Mary Elizabeth Vaughan and brother-in-law James Vaughn; cousin, Mary Theresa Ford.
"Donnie", a devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by two children, Bettye John Tuminello and Robert F. Tuminello and wife, Lee Ann Winn Tuminello; as well as his cherished granddaughter, Morgan Ashley Tuminello. He is also survived by one brother, Silvester "Skippy" Tuminello and wife, Gayle Tuminello and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
"Donnie" as he was affectionately known to family and friends, proudly served as a Marine and a combat veteran. Donnie was an alumnus of St. Edwards in Austin, Texas. He was also a machinist and mechanic who worked with his father-in-law at Mills Motors when he was the only foreign car mechanic in Shreveport. He taught automotive and aircraft mechanics on high school and college levels. He was also a supervisor for vocational schools and for a time he was an expert witness for automobile fatality cases.
He helped with St. Johns school board, draft board, and was eucharistic minister at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. He enjoyed his time spent with members of the Young at Heart church group as well as the Parkinson's support group.
