Funeral services celebrating the life of Frances Raley Stinson, age 83, will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. There will be a visitation on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Park St. Vincent. The services will be officiated by Bro. Crawford Williams and Bro. Harold Ashcraft.
Frances was born on September 28, 1938 to Medie Dupree Raley and Willie C. Raley in Coushatta, Louisiana and passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at The Carpenter House in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Frances, a graduate of Fair Park High School and Baylor University, taught music in Caddo Parish schools for more than thirty years. A true lover of music, Frances also served as minister of music and/or pianist throughout her life for a number of churches including Parkview Baptist Church, Ingleside Baptist Church, Kingston Road Baptist Church, and Pinecroft Baptist Church. Frances loved the Lord, her family, and her many friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and George Raymond Stinson, the father of her children. Left to cherish her memory is her son, George Clinton Stinson; daughter, Shelley Adkins and husband, Howard “Huck”; granddaughters, Megan Adkins Leone and husband, Joe and Ralee Stinson Smith and husband, Alan; great-grandchildren, Baylor and Avery Leone, Carter and Michael Smith; as well as many other relatives and friends, including Juanita Ward who was like a second mother to Frances, best friend, Dawn Manning, and close family friends, Bill and Tammy Laurenson.
