Pete had a remarkable career as a salesman for General Electric Supply Company for over 40 years, followed by another 20 years of similar work for Electric Supply Company. Pete was recognized as a top salesman by General Electric, earning consistent membership in the selective Drummers Club reserved for top national salespeople. Shreveport mayor Robert “Bo” Williams honored Pete by declaring May 9, 1998 the “Louis E. “Pete” Leslie Day”. Pete remembered his roots by active participation in a group that sponsored and organized the Caddo Heights Alumni reunions for many years.
To know Pete was to love him. He had the uncanny ability to understand what was important to so many people around him. His vivacious personality and gratitude for life had the effect of making all feel welcome. Pete was also known for his loyal support to all his family, coworkers, customers, friends, and associates. And, of course, he loved the LSU Tigers!
The family wishes to thank each member of the team at The Glen Retirement Village for the care and camaraderie provided to Pete over his final five years.
