"Pete", born in Shreveport, January 2, 1933, passed away suddenly January 28, 2013, due to a brief illness. A memorial mass is planned for Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Shreveport. Family and friends are invited to gather in the Burleigh Center after the service.
She was preceded in death by Rosa Antoinette Vaccaro, grandmother, parents Leo Hanggi and Marie Vaccaro Hanggi Birdwell, George R. Birdwell, step-father, and Kenneth R. Mills and Frances Vaccaro Mills, (adoptive parents) and Paul Mills Tuminello, son.
"Pete" a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother is survived by Donnie A. Tuminello, husband of sixty two years; two children, Bettye John Tuminello and Robert F. Tuminello and wife, Lee Ann Winn Tuminello, as well as her cherished granddaughter, Morgan Ashley Tuminello. She is also survived by three sisters Barbara Stearns, Frances Barfield, Roslyn Plaxco and husband, George and numerous nieces and nephews.
"Pete" as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was an alumnus of St. Vincent Academy attended Centenary and LSU-S. Monthly luncheons with her fellow St. Vincent alumni were close to her heart. She began working with the family business for Mills Motor Parts as a bookkeeper. For a number of years, Pete owned Frances Mills Women's Apparel. An active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Pete was a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed her time spent with members of the Young at Heart group as well as the Parkinson's Support group.
Memorials may be sent to Holy Angels Residential Facility or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
