Mrs. Sally F. Godfrey, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Sally was born on July 13, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jessie Carrol McLemore and Roma Rogers McLemore. She was the middle daughter of her beloved parents, having an older and a younger sister.
She graduated from Hockaday School followed by one year at Arizona State College then graduated from the University of Arkansas. Sally then continued her education at Oklahoma University where she received a graduate degree in City Planning.
While at OU she met a fellow Shreveport native, Rellis P. Godfrey, who both found they had much in common and later married after Rellis had completed his military service. She was blessed with two children.
After her children had gotten older, Sally began the arduous task of going back to school while continuing to raise a family resulting in her becoming a Registered Nurse. She practiced for many years to ensure her children received a good education. Her past time was spent riding her horses with her daughter and in later years gardening.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Roma McLemore.
She is survived by her beloved family, husband of forty-eight years, Rellis P. Godfrey; son, Collen P. Godfrey and wife Danielle; grandchildren, Makinsie, Madison and Austin; daughter, Ashley C. Godfrey and husband Trey; older sister Carol M. Bump and husband Larry and younger sister, Kathryn M. Wilson and husband John.
Sally’s life will be honored by her family with a private service.
