Vice President of Operations
Rich, originally from Montoursville, Pennsylvania, entered the Death Care Industry as a summer intern in Shreveport, Louisiana. He eventually accepted a full time position in sales management and excelled. Rich has served in various sales management capacities including: Location Manager of Forest Park East, Director of Sales of Shreveport, Director of Sales of Pennsylvania, and Director of Sales and Marketing for all locations. In 2015 an opportunity came which allowed Rich to return to the Northeast, he was excited to accept the opportunity to serve as Director of Operations and Family Service of two locations which allowed him to learn and excel at operations in addition to sales. In September of 2016, Rich was promoted to Vice President of Operations and General Manager of Forest Park Cemeteries.
Rich states, “I have been fortunate enough to be able to continue my education and relocate with the company several times; which has given me the opportunity to learn many different ways Cemeteries and Funeral Homes can be operated. This exposure has given me extensive knowledge to prepare for my current role.”
Rich has achieved a Bachelor's degree in Political Science (2010) and a Master's Degree in Liberal Arts (2012), earning both from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. His thesis focused on how the Death Care Industry has grown and changed since the 1960's, using Jessica Mitford's "The American Way of Death" as a foundation. Rich has graduated from the International Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association University, and was voted Valedictorian by his peers (2014). He obtained credit for attending the J. Asher Neel College of Sales and Marketing, Cremation Services College (which certified him to be a Crematory Operator, Administrator, and Counselor), Leadership, Administration, and Management College, and Land Management College.
Rich spends much of his free time with his wife, Kate, and their boxer, Zoe. He has served as a Member-at-Large for the Phi Mu Delta Fraternity National Council for two years, President of the Phi Mu Delta Mu Zeta chapter Alumni Association for four years; and most recently started volunteering as the Secretary for the Phi Mu Delta Educational Foundation.
